Usually MaryAlice is the one who blogs about whatever she wants to blog about, but she has let me be a "guest blogger" so here goes. My name is Blogger is I came to live with MaryAlice in 2022 after Myah crocheted me together and sent me to her Grammas house. I have been living on the dashboard of her car until one day ago, when I was taken out of the and attached to her backpack. I get to go on a trip with her to the midwest of the USA and I am going to share my stories from this trip that we are taking. Hang on, it is going to be a ride.
We are just riding through Framingham, Massachusetts right now. We have a little roomette on the Amtrak Train - The Lakeshore Limited. It is really fun to see the cars that are stopped on the street and to hear the train whistle as we slowly inch our way through the little town. We just stopped, this is our first stop out of Boston, we are picking up more passengers, but it doesn't seem like anyone is coming into our sleeper car. I have a really good seat and can see out the window to the outside and also look out the other window to see who is walking up and down in the car. There are blinds but I am keeping the window one open so I can watch what is happening.
I might have to take a little nap. Yesterday was a big day, we had Ron take us in his car to the Sherman Irving Station and we got on the Cyr bus, there were lots of young Amish men, and lots of people who were going places for the holiday. We did have the two seats on the bus for ourselves and it was a really quick trip to Bangor. In Bangor we got right off one bus and onto another, we had to wait in a long line, but we had seats to ourselves all the to Portland. That is Portland Maine, not Oregon, everybody always thinks about only Portland Oregon, but we are in Maine and there is Portland there too. We were staying with Margaret, and we had made plans to go to the movies and then out for an early supper. I stayed in the back of the car the whole time, but I heard MaryAlice talking about Wicked and how it was so disturbing, so I'm glad I didn't see it.
This morning we got up early and went to Becky's for breakfast, it is right on the waterfront and has been there for a long time, they have a special table for the lobstermen. Then we got back on the bus and headed for Boston South Station. There was no snow almost all the way, but when we got close to Boston, it started snowing and it is still snowing as we head west across Massachusetts. MaryAlice met her friends Bob and Barbara at the bus station and then they walked to the Amtrak train part of South Station. MaryAlice is really a good traveler and she found a "red cap" right away and he was really nice. I got to hang out with Jamal on his big cart.
There were lots of people at the station. So many presents and there were people selling holiday cards, and there was a great place with croissants that looked really good. MaryAlice went to place across the street, and had an everything bagel with cream cheese. There is a special place to wait called the Metropolitan Lounge and the three of them visited and laughed and watched some of the CNN headlines, and I am not going to talk about that.
The train was a little later, the snow kept coming down, but Jamal went to get MaryAlice and she followed the cart as we made our way to the train tracks.
We have been in our little room since we left Boston. We are traveling along somewhere that there are a lot of tracks and trains care with incredible graffiti that are not moving. Wow that is some art! I haven't seen any signs yet, but we are coming into a pretty big city. The sky is grey grey white and the snow is big flakes. We just stopped, not sure why. There is a lot of stopping and starting on a train. More than i usually do in the car when we go on trips. We will be on this train until we get to Albany NY, then we will get some help to move to another car, we will be going on the NY train that is going to be hooked up to this one, we are late, but it doesn't matter because the two trains come together and then go all the way to Chicago and maybe further, but we are going to get off in Chicago and get on the Empire Builder to St. Paul Minnesota. Then we are where we are going to be for awhile. We are doing our holiday traveling and then we will do lots more traveling and being with family and friends. Well, we are going fast, it was only a tiny little stop and now we are moving along, there is still lots of other cars on the other track, so that is all I can see from the outside. There is not only only graffiti on the cars, but lots of graffiti on the concrete and buildings, it is really colorful and I like looking at it. When we are on the train, we are only seeing the backside of things. It looks really different than when you are on the street or sidewalk. I am going to be seeing a lot of the backside, it is a long trip, and I think that I will take a little nap. Then maybe see about the cafe car. It is about five hours until we have to move to our new room in a different car, but the conductor said that they will help us. My eyes are getting droopy and so that is all for right now. I hope this isn't too boring, I am just getting the hang of this blog thing and a train ride. Thanks for coming along with me. Naptime.
