Prayer for Peace and the New Year

The late afternoon started with my grandchildren, we went to our most favorite japanese bistro and sat at the sushi bar, and were happy, contented appreciative enjoyers of every dish that was sat in front of us!  I love that their favorite neighborhood restaurant when at Gramma's is the sushi/noodle bistro.  They especially love the rabato.  Then we were off to our friends Thai restaurant where we had sticky rice and ice cream, and folded peace cranes!  The place was packed with families - kids running around, the owners smiling, the wait staff running, everyone making cranes, toasting the new year.  We had thai fortune cookies - my said that I was going to be successful in bed - what an omen for the new year!

Now it is time and space for intention.  I would like to share the peace prayer from the sufi order.  We in the U.S. and in a number of other countries will all be praying sometime tonight or tomorrow.  I hope that in whatever way you can and do - that you will take a moment to set an intention, be grateful, hope for peace, pray to be an instrument of change.  Send blessings to this earth, to the world, to all people on our planet.  To remember our connection with the cosmos, with the divine.  Happy New Year to us all.

A note about the prayer -- take what you like and leave the rest,  make the lord be whatever that is which reflects the divine- the most highest good within ourselves -in our faith in our imagination.

Prayer for Peace

Send thy peace, O Lord, which is perfect and everlasting, that our souls may radiate peace.
Send thy peace, O Lord, that we may think, act and speak harmoniously.
Send they peace, O Lord, that we may be contented and thankful for they bountiful gifts.
Send Thy peace, O Lord, that amidst our worldly strife we may enjoy Thy bliss.
Send They Peace, O Lord, that we may endure all, tolerate all in the thought of Thy grace and mercy.
Send Thy peace, O Lord, that our lives may become a divine vision, and in Thy light all darkness may vanish.
Send Thy peace, O Lord, our Father and Mother, that we Thy children on earth may all unit in one family.
Amen
