Trip to my Brook

Yesterday I took a drive on the Scenic By-Way West of Mt. Chase to get some spring water.  I consider it an essential trip.  The water tastes so good, so I fill up my water containers for the week.   I don't know the name of the spring, I know it has one.  I meant to take a picture when i got there but I was so focused on filling up my jugs, I just forgot.  There is the sweetest little sign that hangs from a tree, is swings back and forth and says "Spring"!   Oh the water, the clean, clear water.

Today I took a trip down to my brook, Webb Brook runs along the south end of my property.  I have this little bit of scruff woods and then the brook,  it is my little enchanted space and I love the sound of the rushing water and discovering all that has been uncovered with
the melting of the snow.  Unfortunately I have not figured out how I can put a video on my blog.  It is on my list of this is what I want in a blogsite.  Some day maybe.

Yesterday just flew right by me, I had so many phone calls,  there were a number of "to do's" that I got done.  My energy was so bright and connected It felt like a day when I was not living in the time of the corona virus.

It was the second week of a new Tai-Chi class that I am taking.  For sure one of the bonuses of connecting by "zoom".  The class is fun, the teacher is very good, totally positive and I am somewhat surprised by how much I like participating.

The rest of the day is kind of a blur, some good check- ins with friends and an early to bed night.

Today started with a zoom call with the Katahdin Collaborative steering committee.  We are in the midst of hiring a community coordinator, the last day for resumes is May 1st.   Check out the Job Description.
If you know anyone or you think you are the person for this job. Get that resume ready along with your cover letter and email it in....it is going to be a great opportunity!

The rest of today has been a series of calls,  tasks and a sweet little nap.

Then it was time to go check out the the brook.

This brook which runs fast and clear is a testament to the Clean Water Act.  This brook

was called "sewer brook"  and you don't have to have a vivid imagination to know why.  It was a dumping ground literally.

Now there are fish and good quality running water wildly in the spring.  I remember how surprised I was last spring when I began to hear it running.   I didn't really know what the brook looked like when I bought the house so springtime brought a wonderful surprise.

It was good to be able to just listen to the water,  hear the little birds high up in the trees talking back and forth to each other, and enjoying the movement of the water amidst the stillness of the recently thawed earth,
It is Tuesday.  We are going into a four phase process for opening up businesses throughout the state.  The Stay at home order is in place  until the end of May.  It is not what many people wanted.  There are protocols and there will be tension.  People will be required to wear face cloths while outside.   Anyone from out of state must go into quarantine for 14 days.

So is the life of now.  It sounds like I may be able to have visitors in July.  We are still dreaming and making plans for when that might happen.   For now,  I am just hanging in there about today, and I can reach into tomorrow.  That's the best I can do.  July dreaming will be in more full force soon!
