Cinco de Mayo Pool Time in Phoenix

It is morning in Phoenix, not usually my blog time, but I am sitting on the patio, feeling the breeze and listening to Weekend Edition I have been listening regularly (as in almost daily) to NPR since 1971, and this morning as I writing letters and postcards I was remembering back to being this young woman in Vernon County, Wisconsin, living the back to the land life (yes hippie was a descriptive term).  We had no tv and everyday as I baked bread, cooked, cleaned I listened to NPR.  The announcers were my mentors, the stories made me think, I felt at home when I was listening especially to Morning Edition and All Things Considered!   I still feel "grounded" as I travel along with the stories and try on new information and digest the old in new ways.

We have narrowed down our plans for today, there were several Cinco de Mayo events,  but as the temperatures have climbed and the forecast is hot hot hot, we have cooked up other plans, that don't involve us being cooked.  Karen, Jen and I are going out for brunch later this morning, it is a place that I have not been to yet.  Then we have a little open possibility time, I may want to find a flotation device of some kind to facilitate the lazy woman time in the pool later today!

This is my last weekend in Phoenix for this trip!  I will be packing up many of my summer clothes that I have accumulated at the second hand store and sending back to Millinocket.  I will have a few new things to wear while sitting at the Fanjoy's pool upon my return!

Imagine a picture postcard of blue skies, swaying palm trees, mountains standing tall and maybe an olive tree or two in the background.  That is my morning here at the Valley Oasis.

So now it's time to get off the couch, start moving around and getting ready for the next adventure.  I am sure another one is waiting for me.

Happy Saturday to you.  More later.
