So you may have noticed. No double header yesterday. The Lynx won, the game ran late, then I had to stay to see Myah, rookies, new team members do the celebration dance with all the little little kids, and then hear Myah talk to the crowd. On Wednesday we got to see the Lynx team we know and love, great defense, took care of the ball, had a 27 point lead. Won the game even with Dallas making a good run at the end.
It was a fun night. I am so glad that I got to see both games. I took the bus down to meet Becky and others for eats and drinks before the game, then we walked over to the arena. I took an Uber home, they have a special Uber pick up for Target Center, and after a little wait, I got whisked off in a Toyota Tundra! Not quite the girl in the flat bed truck in Winslow Arizona, and after a very convoluted route home, I got back to Beth’s house. No energy, desire or creative spark for a double header, so you get a Thursday post.
Today was spending good time with Employment First folks and a dear friend from the Department! Hot, humid and fun day. Beth is coming home tonight, and I am happy to be able to spend some time with my friend and to transition over to the family home for parts of the weekend.
I will be on plane back to Maine in nine days. I did have some phone calls with folks from Katahdin region today, making some plans, getting some dates in place and in general getting the wheels moving for my life when I get back home.
I am also excited that we are getting closer to Myah’s graduation week. A accomplishment worth big time celebration! I am so proud of her and look foreword to watching her graduate and receive all the accolades and well wishes she truly deserves.
Tomorrow is Myah’s last day of high school. Tomorrow is my day to spend with former colleagues and have some good happy hour fun, and kick off the three day weekend. There are a few more connections I need to make, trying to find time to meet with a few more friends, making sure that there are some precious moments with my family. All of this as I feel the pull and desire to be back to my life in Millinocket.
It is Thursday, I am still on vacation. One more Thursday, the count down is beginning and the adventure is still in the air.
