I have arrived in Iowa County today. I am with Serafina in her new home in the eastern part of the driftless land. It has been a beautiful, sunny, warm spring day. Before leaving LaFarge Marcia and I had a wonderful breakfast with Amish Eggs and Sunny Paris seasonings, Marcia cooked. Then we went to Viroqua where the owner of MacHelp helped me with my computer. It is soup damaged, but he was able to get it to boot up and helped me to understand what has been damaged.
I will take it to the Apple Store and it will go off to Apple Care all well. The computer only works when plugged in and the keyboard is a little stiff and it is hard to do spaces! But I have a computer and I am able to use it....now I just need to decide when I will send it off to be repaired.
After dropping the computer off we met Peg, Peg was my very first girlfriend and the love of my life, and the other Mother...she still is all those things except "my girlfriend". She has been happily married to Barb for a number of years, they were married in Canada. We had lunch together and talked about all being together for grandchild #1's graduation on the 30th.
Then Marcia and I headed back to the dome, spent a few hours just hanging out and I headed out to Avoca.
I took county and town roads most of the way, through the hills and curves, enthralled with the range of green that was all around me as I drove. The sky was blue blue blue and it was so warm that I rolled up the windows, put on the AC and played the radio very loud.
I arrived at "the farm" late afternoon. I have been driving here since the late 70's. It is another coming home.
Serafina and I are sisters to each other and in a moment we were comfortable sharing and listening and just loving each other.
The new house is so wonderful and there are windows everywhere. She is up on the ridge and you can see for miles and miles, the vista is immense.
It is now dark, we had a great meal, good wine and we are both on our laptops, we will wake up and go into the garden in the morning, and who knows what adventures we will have. I know that we will have ones.
It is Wednesday, I am in Wisconsin. The adventures continue and I am at another home away from home.
